Just a seven-minute walk from Kyoto Station.
Hidden away in a quiet alley off Shichijo Horikawa, a step removed from the busy streets, Towa Ryokan is a Kyoto inn that quietly relaxes the weariness of travel.
Located in the temple town of Nishi Honganji, an area where Buddhist culture has thrived since ancient times, the inn offers spacious private rooms where guests can savor kaiseki cuisine. Vegan and vegetarian guests can also enjoy authentic Japanese cuisine here.

A moment of relaxation in a Japanese-style setting

The guest rooms at Towa Ryokan cherish authentic Japanese design.
In spaces where the faint scent of tatami mats lingers, calm, tasteful design elements create a relaxed atmosphere where time flows gently. Meals served in completely private rooms are perfect for those who value quiet moments.
This is one reason why it’s chosen not only by tourists but also for dinners with family or loved ones.

The cuisine at Towa Ryokan is meticulously crafted by our owner-chef, who trained at a long-established Fushimi restaurant. Honoring the traditions of Kyoto cuisine, each dish is prepared with care and dedication. The appealing composition satisfies both stomach and soul.

Located near a temple, Towa Ryokan has deep ties to Buddhism. Reexamining “Japanese cuisine without animal products” was a natural progression for them, evolving the ancient philosophy of shojin ryori (Buddhist vegetarian cuisine) into a contemporary “Vegan/Vegetarian Kaiseki” that aligns with modern food culture.
